Hello My Name Is...

Bang! Boom! What a weekend!!! The 4th of July festivities definitely were spent surrounded by people. People I have met before, and some I met for the very first time. I will tell you that being around people feeds my soul and there are many health benefits to that. Now, I'm not talking flash mob. I am talking your people. Are you following me? Ask yourself this question, when I am around my inner circle (family and or close friends) how do they make me feel and how do they feed my soul?

Let me give you an example. I am fortunate to have a close knit family. We push each other to be the best we can be. If it wasn’t for my sister Susan I would have never known about the Functional Medicine Certified Coaching program. She encouraged me to take that leap of faith and I am thankful I did. That encouragement gave me confidence to say yes. Funny thing, while writing this blog I laughed out loud as I can hear my mom say (when all of us were younger), if she told you to jump off a bridge would you do that too! Well mom, today I would and we would be holding hands as we take the plunge wearing a smile.

This is where health benefits come into play. Our tribe is composed of like minded individuals who encourage us, they guide us, they support us unconditionally (even when they think it’s a really bad idea), they give us advice, they hold us accountable, they are our best cheerleading section, they speak the same language and they never leave your side. They help relieve stress in our lives. We even eat the same way our tribe eats. Think about it. There are also those you work out with and push you to succeed. Thank God for those friends and family members, right?

I’m signing off for now. Be healthy with your mind, body and soul and be with people who help you do accomplish that.
